Chemical Protection Coatings Safeguard Equipment in Harsh Environments

Chemical protection coatings reliably stop tanks, stirrers and pipes from degrading in demanding chemical environments. We customize coating layers, up to two millimeters thick, to the specific needs of your equipment and processes.

Fluroroplastics cover a range of chemical protection needs

Fluoroplastic properties make them ideally suited as chemical protection coatings:

  • Withstand very high working temperatures
  • Are nonstick and impervious to solvents and other chemicals
  • Can be electrically insulating, electrically dissipative, or conductive
  • Highly durable and wear-resistant

Fluoropolymer coatings made with ECTFE (Halar® coating), ETFE, FEP and PFA are the ideal barrier in the most challenging environments involving high heat and harsh chemicals. For use with lower temperatures and less aggressive chemicals, we recommend non-fluorinated coating materials like PA, PPS, PP and EVAL.

Modest investment in chemical protection coatings can result a big return

Using LubriCoat NA’s chemical protection coatings can mean you won’t need super costly equipment made of expensive special alloys to avoid degradation from exposure to harsh chemicals. Less costly equipment made from aluminum, steel, stainless steel, or other alternatives can be used safely and economically with chemical protection coatings, even in aggressive environments that include solvents, acids, alkalis, and oxidizing and reducing agents.

Halar® - an outstanding performer

Halar® is the most durable of the fluoropolymers.  It has excellent mechanical properties as well as extremely low permeability to liquids, gases, and vapors and resistance to temperatures up to 150°C (300°F). Halar® coatings have excellent nonstick properties, and are impact and shock resistant, particularly in higher thicknesses.

The superior chemical, corrosion, and heat resistance of Halar® coatings based on ECTFE make them ideal for use with:

  • Tanks and other vessels
  • Piping systems
  • Fittings
  • Pump & valve components
  • Filter housings
  • Components for wet process stations
